In a solar system an object implodes and slowly starts to drag everything towards it. On one of the planets and SG team is trying to run for the gate but they seem to be running in mud.
SG-10 try to escape.
They manage to dial into the SGC. At the base Sam is trying to explain wormholes to Jack when they receive an incoming wormhole. They receive a transmission but it is running very slow, Sam has it sped up and the computer recognises it as SG-10's iris code, they open the iris but no one comes through and the wormhole shuts down. Hammond orders a MALP sent through and SG 1 and 3 put on standby. The MALP is sent to the planet, P3W-451 and they get a signal back but the image is all red. Sam has the computer compensate for 'red shift' and the image clears up. Sam has the MALP camera titled up to see what SG-10 are so scared of, they see a black hole, SG-10 can't be saved. Hammond orders the gate shut down but it won't close.
The MALP shows the black hole.
On the surface a black ops team arrives, the surface guards have been out of contact with the base for 4 hours. Inside Hammond is trying to call the President but can't get a connection, they also find they have lost all communications above level 24, Hammond decides to go to that level. After he has left they watch as the wormhole starts to act strange.
The wormhole starts playing up.
O'Neill and Siler go to try and pull out the power contacts and pull the main breaker supplying power to the gate, they succeed but the gate doesn't shut off and now starts to suck items into it, Sam orders the iris closed as the gravity from the black hole is coming through the gate.
Hammond meanwhile meets a Major Davies from the Pentagon who takes him to a plane so he can meet the President.

The black ops leader, Cromwell, enters the base and runs into Dr Frasier who he forces to take him to the command centre at gun point. There he meets Jack, it seems they know each other and they obviously don't like each other. Hammond arrives back and says that they have come up with a plan, they will destroy the SGC and the gate with it, but Sam disagrees but has no other plan at this stage. Hammond orders the base evacuated, Jack and Cromwell will stay to set the self destruct.
Hammond orders the evacuation.
On the surface Sam is working on some equations and trying to come up with a different solution. When Hammond mentions the second gate something clicks in Sam's mind, if they focus a bomb blast into the wormhole they can get it to jump to another location and then just close down the gate, they have to get back down there before the self destruct is activated.
Sam tries to come up with a solution.
They put Sam's plan into operation. Jack and Cromwell will need to slid along some ropes with a nuclear bomb and place it at an exact angle and position before they set the timer. They get to the position and set the bomb timer but the iris then collapses under the intense gravity. Cromwell and Jack are pulled toward the wormhole, Cromwell gives his life to save Jacks. Sam and Teal'c then pull Jack toward the dialling room and get him out of the way just before the bomb blows.
Jack is pulled clear of the bomb blast.
The plan has succeeded, the bomb blast sent the gate to another location and they were able to shut it down, a new trinium strengthened iris will be put in its place.
