Inside a temple a man says a prayer to a statue. The gate starts dialling up and he runs off, SG-1 arrive. They find a woman and the man, the woman is about to give birth and Daniel has to help. Having much gratitude for what they have done, they name the child after Daniel. SG-1 are invited to a celebration by the man Alekos, he also introduces his people as the Chosen.
During the meal they notice no one seems older than about 40. A woman called Kinthea introduces herself to Jack and offers him some cake, he accepts it.
Jack eats the cake.
As Jack eats the cake he starts going a little funny and soon Kinthea is doing a dance for him. Jack is dragged of to Kintheas room and they end up in bed together. As a bell sounds and the sunsets all of the inhabitants drop unconscious. As SG-1 discuss what is going on they work out that only Jack took the cake, he now collapses.
The next morning Jack and all the locals awake. Daniel and Teal'c go to examine the temple and look around the statue, it is of the Argosians God Pelops. Teal'c sees Goa'uld writing around the base of the statue and starts pressing it, a draw soon opens, inside is a Goa'uld writing tablet and page turning device.

At the village Sam finds the baby they helped deliver the previous day but it is already a toddler. Sam and Jack find out that all the Argosians are only days or weeks old, it seems Pelops was experimenting on these people to look at human evolution. Whatever is making the Argosians evolve so fast, Jack now has.
Sam returns to the SGC and sees Dr Frasier. In the blood of the Argosians there are some kind of nanobots, in the Jack's blood there are loads more.
Sam and Frasier discuss the situation.
Arriving back on Argose Sam finds that Jack has aged fast, she tells him that in two weeks he will be the equivalent of 100 years old. Jack orders them all to return to Earth.
On Argose Jack tells Kinthea and Alekos the truth about Pelops. Alekos says that if he had many days to live he would walk out past the boundaries of the Chosen, somewhere Pelops has disallowed them from going.
Back at the SGC Hammond orders all the blood samples destroyed after they start to adapt, they will have to work with computer simulations and leave Jack where he is. They send all this info to Jack in a video recording, as well as a farewell message.
Jack watches the message.
On Argose Jack watches the locals ask Pelops for help, he goes mad and tells them that Pelops and his kind use people like them as slaves and experiments, the Argosians tear down the statue. That evening Jack and Kinthea walk past the village boundaries, they suddenly notice that it is night time and they are still awake. They return to the village the next morning and find all the Argosians asleep, Jack speculates something in the village activates and deactivates the sleep patterns. Going to the temple he finds a device hidden in the statues ruins.
SG-1 arrive back on Argose and work out what is going on. They wake up the villagers and find that the device also controlled the nanobots, now it is gone the Argosians should live a normal life and Jack should return to his old self. Jack says a fond farewell to Kinthea and they take their leave.
