Daniel suggests that they find out why the Nasians suddenly became targets, Hammond agrees.
Dr Frasier gives Sam the once over as a routine check after a mission and finds nothing wrong with her. She tells Sam that Cassandra (see Singularity) wants to see her and that she should come to the hospital tomorrow to see her. The next day at a USAF hospital, Dr Frasier is examining one of the survivors, he has 80% burns and should be dead, but he isn't. Sam arrives and Dr Frasier goes with her to Cassandra's room. At the SGC Jack calls everyone in SG-1 to the gate room, Sam arrives and then Jack enters the room and injects Sam with enough tranq. to take down an elephant, it doesn't do anything to her. Sam suddenly becomes the Goa'uld and orders them to open the gate. She takes a grenade and threatens to blow them all up if she doesn't get what she wants, suddenly she faints and Jack takes the grenade.
Sam threatens to take them all with her if they don't open the gate.
In a briefing they work out when Sam must have been possessed by the Goa'uld. Dr Frasier tells them there are now serious security risks as she had no idea the Goa'uld was in there, it entered without leaving a mark, all personnel may have to be put through a scan when returning from missions. Hammond says that they will not give up on Sam and will find a way to cure her.
In the hospital a Doctor goes to see the man Dr Frasier was earlier examining. As he goes to remove the bandages the man grabs him and strangles him. In another room Daniel is talking to the wife of the man who had been infected by the Goa'uld, she had never noticed anything different about him except for a small scar near his neck months previous, he was otherwise the perfect husband.
Daniel talks to the wife of the man who was infected by the Goa'uld.
At the SGC Jack is preparing to see Sam. Teal'c tells him not to see his friend by the Goa'uld and to make it look foolish and petit and it may reveal something in trying to regain its control over the situation. Jack goes to see Sam and the Goa'uld again says that she must be let free, she will let Sam return once she finds a new host. Jack doesn't believe her and leaves. As he leaves Sam regains control and says that the Goa'uld is telling the truth.
Back at the hospital the Nasian man has removed his bandages, but he isn't a Nasian. He regurgitates something that looks like Goa'uld technology and places it in his palm. He dresses the Doctor in his bandages and puts him back on the bed. Later Dr Frasier examines him but doesn't notice it is someone different under the bandages.
At the SGC Teal'c goes to see Sam. He is told that she is a member of the Tok'ra, a resistance movement against the System Lords, she is called Jolinar Of Malkshur. She says the Tok'ra could be friends of the Tau'ri.
Teal'c speaks to Sam.
Teal'c leaves to get Jack, on returning Jolinar tells them that she is being hunted by an Ashrack, someone who the System Lords have sent to kill her. Daniel next goes to see her and is told that she knows where Shau're is.
At the hospital the Ashrack takes a soldiers uniform and goes to the SGC where he manages to get passed the security scans. He finds Sam and starts to torture her. As other guards arrive, he says the man went down the corridor and leads them away. Jack and Teal'c find Sam and take her to the infirmary.
The Ashrack tortures Sam.
In the gate room Daniel is seeing the last of the Nasians home. The Ashrack arrives just as the gate shuts down. Daniel recognises him from the hospital, the Ashrack takes Daniel hostage and orders them to reopen the gate. Teal'c arrives and zats both the Ashrack and Daniel, as Daniel falls away Teal'c zats the Ashrack again killing him.
Teal'c zats the Ashrack.
In the infirmary Dr Frasier struggles to save Sam as the Goa'uld is dieing and taking Sam with it. As the Goa'uld dies Sam's stats suddenly pick up, she is weak but stable. As she wakes Jack tells her she has beaten the Goa'uld, but Sam says it actually gave its life for her. Jack is clearly shocked.
