THE PLOT

As Klorel's ship approaches Earth, Jack asks Sam if she has planeted enough C4 to blow the ship up. As Jack prepares to tell her to blow the charges, Daniel places on last one on the control panel in the room, again as Sam goes to blow the charges Teal'c stops them, he has noticed another ship, Apophis's ship approaching. Jack asks Teal'c if blowing up this ship would damage or destroy Apophis's, he says it will not.

SG-1 watch Apophis's ship approach.

As Jaffa start to force their way through the door Sam tells Jack the charges are set to go off in 24 hours, they have that long to make sure both ships are destroyed. The door is opened and a device is thrown into the room, it knocks all of SG-1 out.

Waking up in a cell they find that they are all blinded, the results of a Goa'uld Shock Grenade, Teal'c informs them it will wear off. Daniel starts panicking as he has seen this all before, the Goa'uld will win. On another part of the ship, a First Prime places Klorel in a sarcophagus, the Jaffa who was supposed to be guarding him is then killed for failing his God.

On Earth at the SGC, Lt. Col. Samuels has a go at Hammond for not heeding his advice and shutting the gate down ages ago. He then tells Hammond that they are preparing a missiles to destroy the Goa'uld ships.

Hammond and Samuels talk.

Klorel's first prime visits Apophis who tells him to kill the humans. After he departs Apophis tells his own First Prime that they will attack Earth once Klorel has risen, Earth will pay for daring to harm him.

At the SGC, Samuels briefs the others. Two missiles will be launched, one at each ship, both missiles will be Naquada enhanced Mk12 Nuclear weapons, now called 'Goa'uld Busters', they will destroy the Goa'uld ships of this Samuels is supremely confident. A while later, Chevron Guy tells Hammond and Samuels that a energy discharge was earlier detected on the bridge of one of the Goa'uld ships, Hammond hopes it is SG-1, but Samuels is very skeptical. Earth has set up an Alpha site on another planet, to which our most skillful and forward thinking people will be sent until this is over, or if they are destroyed they will start a new colony there.

Hammond briefs the Alpha Group.

On Klorel's ship, SG-1 are visited by the First Prime, it is Brat'ac. He tells them that he had a plan to destroy both ships, he says that the Goa'uld are most often challenged by their own children for power, he planned to lead a small group of Gliders against Apophis's ship in Klorel's name, both ships would then have attacked each other and hopefully destroyed each other, but SG-1's blundering in has ruined everything. Klorel revives and the ships start moving. The C4 is set to blow in 41 minutes and Jack suggests they get to the other ship. As the ships enter Geo-syncrinous orbit over Earth the missiles are launched, Apophis raises his shields, and after some struggle so does Klorel, the missiles impact the shields and don't even harm the ships. Hammond contacts the President and tells him to evacuate.

The missiles impact the shields of the Goa'uld ships.

Klorel goes to see Apophis, he is told that he will have the privilege of destroying the first city. Klorel is worried, his host is strong and he fears he needs more time in the sarcophagus. Apophis orders tells him to continue with his orders.

At the SGC, Samuels seems to be falling apart. He asks Hammond for permission to go with the Alpha teams, but Hammond denies the order telling him he will fight alongside his colleagues in defending this facility, just as he himself is going to do.

Brat'ac goes to see Klorel, he tells him he despises the Goa'uld and that they are false gods. Klorel activates his ribbon device and Brat'ac says he will at least die free. At that moment SG-1 attack and save Brat'ac, unfortunately Daniel is injured and he insists he is left behind, much to Jack's displeasure.

Klorel tries to kill Brat'ac after his betrayal.

Taking Klorel hostage SG-1 make their way to Apophis's ship via the Pel'tak (transporter rings). Brat'ac tells Apophis that he is a false god and that he will never serve one again. As they make their way to the shield generator Brat'ac tells SG-1 he has manoeuvred Klorel's ship to ram Apophis's and disabled Apophis's controls, as long as the shields are down both ships should be destroyed. On arriving at the shield generators Jack throws a grenade into it and they are destroyed, they then head toward the glider bays to escape. On arriving there Brat'ac throws a shock grenade in therefore knocking out all the guards.

On Klorel's ship Daniel emerges from the sarcophagus fit and well, he heads towards the gate room with only 1min 11 seconds left on the C4 timer. On Apophis's ship he is angry at Klorel for failing him and can also not regain control of his ship. He and Klorel transport off the ship somewhere.

Apophis confronts Klorel.

Daniel escapes through the gate just in time and SG-1 also escape just in time in their gliders, as the two Goa'uld ships blow up the gliders get damaged.

The two Goa'uld ships blow up.

As Sam looks up towards Earth she says that they will burn up in the atmosphere, Jack looks up and seems resigned to die, he is just happy to have saved the planet. On Earth the gate dials up, it is Daniel, he realised that Klorel's ship was near enough to use Earth as the point of origin, he dialled the Alpha site, then home. In space, SG-1's gliders are recovered by a shuttle.

Back at the SGC, SG-1 are given a hero's welcome, so is Brat'ac. Brat'ac tells 'Hammond Of Texas' that SG-1 fought well, he also says that he will have to return to Chulak after answering some questions. Hammond tells SG-1 there is someone he would like them to meet, Daniel enters the room. Jack and Sam embrace him and Teal'c raises a happy eyebrow.

The SGC celebrate their great victory.
