Fair Game

Arthur Simms the Secretary of State congratulates the SGC for the defeat of Hathor and rescue of SG-1. Hammond then steps forward and promotes Sam from Captain to Major for all her duties for the SGC.
Sam is promoted.
Jack steps forward to say a few words but suddenly disappears in a flash of light. Jack arrives aboard a ship orbiting Earth, an Asgard appears behind him and introduces himself as Thor.
Thor tells Jack that he has come on an urgent mission. The Asgard have heard of the Tau'ri's defeat of Hathor and have come to tell them the System Lords are not happy and have turned their attention towards Earth as they now consider us a formidable foe. Thor has come to Earth to enlist us in the protected planets treaty, this would protect us from attack by the System Lords. Jack is transported back to Earth.
At the SGC they discuss the situation when Thor arrives, he tells them that 3 System Lords will arrive via Stargate to discuss the treaty.
Thor tells the SGC crew about the Treaty.
Daniel discusses the three System Lords with them, they are Cronos, Nyerti and Yu. Hammond and the others are not happy with some of the treaty rules, mainly those that say that there can be no weapons on the base while the treaty negotiations take place.
The three Goa'uld arrive and are soon causing problems, Cronos thinks his room is pitiful and they are all not pleased with CCTV cameras in there rooms, Daniel agrees to the cameras being removed from the rooms but not the corridors, the Goa'uld agree. They see Teal'c and are not happy at all, Cronos in particular. Daniel asks Teal'c what is going on, it seems that there is a personal history, Cronos killed Teal'c's father and banished him and his mother.
Daniel and Teal'c talk about his history.
The summit begins and within moments Jack has insulted the Goa'uld who storm out of the room. Thor tells Jack that it was to be expected and that they will return, he tells Jack that the Asgard couldn't defeat the Goa'uld at this moment in time and these negotiations are really a bluff. Thor returns to his ship leaving Jack a com device.
Thor tells Jack the truth.
The summit recommences and the plans are all put on the table, it comes down to Earth giving up its stargate, both of them. Jack goes back to his superiors and they aren't happy as there are other treats to Earth that the gate could help protect them against, Jack goes to ask Thor's council. Thor tells Jack that it is his decision and he believes he has it in him to make the correct one.
Jack gets Thors council.
Back on Earth they decide to accept the treaty terms but Cronos is attacked before they can recommence the summit, Teal'c is in his room also injured. The security tapes show Teal'c going into Cronos's room but no one believes he would attack him and threaten Earth's safety, Sam is told to find out what happened.
Nyerti and Yu are brought to Cronos. Nyerti is given a healing device but can't heal him and says that Cronos needs a sarcophagus, they prepare to leave with him. Thor tells Jack they will have to let the Goa'uld go even though it would most likely lead to attack from the System Lords. At the SGC they refuse to let the Goa'uld go and bring in armed guards.
Teal'c awakes and tells them that Cronos summoned him, while together they were attacked by an invisible force, they speculate one of the other Goa'uld has stealth technology similar to that used by Hathor. Sam agrees to attempt to heal Cronos as part of a ruse by Jack, she succeeds.
Sam heals Cronos.
Jack tells Cronos he can prove who attacked him and they go to see Nyerti and Yu. Confronting Nyerti Jack says that the Tok'ra have told them she is experimenting with phase shifting, Yu is furious and Nyerti suddenly disappears, she is captured with the use of a TER.
The System Lords leave with Nyerti in custody, they have agreed to the treaty but also have agreed to Earth being able to carry on using its stargate. As he leaves Cronos tells them that they will not attack Earth, but any Earth team found by the System Lords will suffer greatly.
Cronos leaves with his farewell message.
