THE PLOT

Jacob arrives at the SGC, he congratulates SG-1 for kicking Hathor's butt then tells them that he is here for a Goa'uld hunt. In a briefing Jacob shows them all a 'family tree' of the System Lords, the symbol for Seth is rotating. According to a Goa'uld census the Tok'ra have carried out Seth is missing and the last record they have for him is here on Earth before the Giza gate was buried, the Tok'ra believe him to still be here. Jacob wants there help in finding him and Daniel goes off to see if he can trace Seth through false religion and ancient cults.

The System Lords 'family tree'.

Sam asks her father why he got this mission, he tells her he didn't request it but Garshaw assigned him to it. As they enter the lift Selmak takes over. It seems Selmak asked for the assignment as Jacob has to resolve a problem on Earth that is very annoying, that of his son Mark.

Daniel meanwhile has found some information on Seth, it seems there is a cult led by a man called Seth Fargough which is heavily defended, SG-1 and Jacob go to take a look.

Is Seth Fargough a Goa'uld?

Arriving near the cults compound they meet a man whose son, Tom, is inside, he wishes them luck in rescuing the people. Teal'c observes that they are being watched, Jack says it will be the authorities. Taking a look inside the compound they see it is indeed heavily defended and the guards have got zats as sidearms, there is definitely a Goa'uld inside. As they go to leave they are surrounded by armed men, it is the ATF.

The ATF arrive.

The ATF are planning a frontal attack but Jack gets the President to overrule them and let SG-1 take over. Jacob tells them that the people inside will be brainwashed, most likely with a substance called Nischta, Teal'c says that this is what Apophis used on R'yac (see Family), they can free people by zatting them. Daniel says that many ruins found in the Valley Of The Kings had secret underground passages built into them, Teal'c says that Apophis also had them built into his compounds, they go looking for it and find it. Sam builds an electrical shock device that they can wear in their ears which will get rid of the Nischta if Seth uses it on them. SG-1 go in and follow the tunnel, the end up in a large empty chamber but when they stand together they are ringed into Seth's compound, he doses them with Nischta.

SG-1 are brought before Seth.

After coming under his control Seth senses Sam has been blended and has Jack and Daniel brought before him. He demands to know who Earth's government's work for, the Tok'ra or the System Lords, Sam says that the name Tok'ra rings a bell. At that moment Teal'c operates the ear devices and the three are snapped out of Seth's control, Seth orders them taken away and killed. As they are being led into another room they manage to zat the guard, they find out it is Tom the son of the man they had met earlier. Tom helps them find the rest of the zats and they free others from Seth's control and start ringing them out of the compound.

The first free cult members arrive on the surface.

Jack and Daniel stay behind to help the last people escape but they are caught by Seth, he blasts them with his ribbon device, plants a bomb next to them and leaves. Jack and Daniel wake up and escape just in time.

Seth blasts Jack and Daniel.

In the tunnels Jack, Daniel, Sam and Jacob search for Seth. Jacob finds him but Seth blasts him with the ribbon device. Selmak takes control and gives Sam the ribbon device Jacob has, Selmak tells Sam she can summon the strength to use it. Sam finds Seth and kills him.

Seth meets his end.

Jacob goes to see his son Mark, they embrace and he and Sam are welcomed inside.
