On another planet some archeologists uncover a stargate. As they look at it the gate starts to dial up.
The archeologists uncover the gate.
At the SGC Sam tells Hammond that they have got a hit from the cold address dialling program. As the lead archeologist, Nyan, touches the event horizon a MALP comes through. Daniel speaks to Nyan through the MALP and requests permission from Hammond to go to the planet, he gets it, but they will need to take a Naquada reactor as there is no DHD visible. One of the archeologists Nyan is working with, Malon, runs off to tell the authorities what is happening.
SG-1 arrive on the planet, called Bedrosia. As the others speak to Nyan Teal'c goes to look around the area. It seems there are two factions on the planet, the Bedrosians who Nyan is one who believe all life started on Bedrosia and the Optricons who believe that people were brought to the planet through the gate. The Bedrosian authorities arrive and capture Jack, Daniel and Sam, Nyan escapes.
Jack, Daniel and Sam are captured.
In the forest Teal'c spots a Bedrosian soldier, he shoots him but gets shot himself. At the gate site the Bedrosian CO, Rigar, thinks that SG-1 are Optricon spies and will not be convinced otherwise, he has them locked up. Back in the forest Nyan finds Teal'c, he has been blinded. Nyan takes him to a hiding place. Nyan tells Teal'c he is proof that the Bedrosian theory is false and is of great scientific interest, Teal'c tells him he will not be an object of scientific study. Nyan leaves to get some supplies. As he waits Teal'c finds his symbiote has been injured.
At the gate site Rigar questions Jack, Daniel and Sam, while Jack tells him rubbish Sam and Daniel try to convince him of the truth, he won't listen to them. Later Daniel is taken outside, the Bedrosians have found the man Teal'c killed and also have uncovered the DHD, they demand Daniel tell them what is going on.
Daniel is shown the DHD.
Nyan returns to the cave with some medical supplies for Teal'c, he uses an eye regenerator on him to help restore his vision.
At the gate site Rigar demands to know where the fourth man of the SG team is, Daniel won't tell him so he zats Sam and Jack.
Rigar takes it out on Sam and Jack.
Before he finishes his questioning the gate dials up, it is the SGC. Hammond talks to Rigar and is told that any rescue attempt will result in the death of his men.
In the forest Teal'c starts his rescue attempt by firing on a Bedrosian ship forcing it to land, Nyan zats the soldiers inside and they take it over. They proceed to the gate site and crash the shuttle. Nyan rushes off to try and free SG-1 while Teal'c keeps the guards occupied.
Teal'c gets into a firefight.
Nyan is successful and Daniel manages to get to the DHD while the others provide cover fire. They manage to escape just before other Bedrosian ships arrive, they take Nyan with them.
Jack and Teal'c escape with Nyan.
Back at the SGC Nyan is offered a position as Daniel's research assistant. Teal'c meanwhile tells Nyan that one day they may be able to return to Bedrosia and Nyan could present him to his scientific friends.
