THE PLOT

The SGC have sent a probe to a world, designate P7X-377 that has a 1000 metre+ Myan pyramid. As they look around via the camera on the MALP they see a skull made of crystal, the same as one found in Belize by Daniel's grandfather in 1971. They want to travel to the pyramid but it is full of radiation and the longest they will be able to stay there is 15 minutes.

The pyramid on P7X-377.

Arriving on the planet they cross over a narrow ledge to the platform where the skull is. Daniel peers into the skulls eyes and something starts to happen, Teal'c zats the skull but when they have all recovered they find Daniel has disappeared.

Something happens when Daniel looks into the skulls eyes.

The radiation spikes off the chart and Sam collapses, Jack picks her up and they rush back to the SGC. Back at the SGC Dr Frasier treats them for radiation poisoning, Hammond allows Teal'c to travel back to 377 to recover the skull, hoping it will lead to clues on where Dr Jackson is. Arriving back on 377 Teal'c picks up the skull, Daniel is still there but he doesn't seem to visible to Teal'c even though his presence seems to be felt. Arriving back on Earth the skull is given to Dr Rothman (Forever In A Day), he is told it is a teleportation device but is totally skeptical, Hammond orders him to humour him.

Teal'c is mediating in his room, Daniel is in there and Teal'c seems to feel his presence again. Later in the lab Sam also seems to feel Daniel's presence. Sam suggests that to help them solve the mystery they go to see Daniel's grandfather Nick Ballard, unfortunately he is in a mental institute.

They go to see Nick, Daniel also goes. Daniel tells Nick to tell them everything, it appears Nick can see Daniel as he speaks of him he looks straight at him. When Jack and the others come in Nick doesn't tell them a thing until he can see the skull.

Jack talks to Nick Ballard.

Back at the SGC Hammond gives Jack permission to show Nick the skull. After Jack leaves Hammond gets a call from his grand-daughter Kayla, he tells her he can't see her school play as a good friend is missing, Daniel overhears it all. Nick sees the skull and tells them about the world he went to when he looked into the eyes of the one at Belize, on the world where giant aliens, the world he describes matches 377. Nick is taken to the VIP room where Daniel is waiting for him, he can indeed see Daniel and had thought he was a figment of his imagination, they start to talk.

Nick goes to see General Hammond and tells him Daniel needs to return to the planet as something must have interrupted the process the skull does (Teal'c's zat blast), to convince him that he is telling the truth Daniel gets Nick to tell Hammond of the conversation with his grand-daughter he overheard. Hammond gives the mission a go and Nick also tags along.

Nick tells the rest of SG-1 and Hammond that Daniel is still there.

Arriving on 377 Nick replaces the skull. Daniel looks into its eyes and the process starts.

The skull starts to work again.

The skull completes what it was meant to do and everyone but Teal'c can see Daniel again, infact Teal'c can't see any of the others and returns to the SGC. A giant alien called Quetlzelcoatl arrives and tells them that they are welcome as they are enemies of the Goa'uld, Daniel tells him that they want to exchange knowledge and the alien allows Nick to stay with them.

SG-1 meet Quetlzelcoatl.
