THE PLOT

On Chulak two men await someone, Teal'c arrives. He discusses the Jaffa Rebellion against the Goa'uld with the two men. As they discuss which Jaffa are willing to rebel, one of the men, Racn'or thanks Teal'c for the information, this blasphemous rebellion will now soon be over. Another Jaffa enters and zats Teal'c.

Teal'c discusses the rebellion.

At the SGC a message is received for Jacob from the Tok'ra. Thanks to Tanith the Tok'ra have intercepted a conversation between the two strongest Goa'uld, Apophis and Heru-ur, it seems they plan to ally against the System Lords. Jacob shows Daniel a technical manual the Tok'ra have for some mines in the area Apophis and Heru-ur plan to meet, Daniel is able to understand the text, an ancient Earth dialect, Phoenician. Jacob tells them that they will now hopefully be able to re programme one of the mines in the Tobin system so it will attack Apophis's ship, thus making him think Heru-ur is attacking him and the two will go to war.

In a dungeon Teal'c is chained up. A Goa'uld called Terok enters and starts to torture him.

Teal'c is tortured.

Terok turns on a recording device, he will record Teal'c's torture and humiliation and final confession that the Goa'uld are Gods, so that any Jaffa now or in the future will think twice before rebelling. A while later Racn'or and Teal'c are alone, Racn'or asks him why he will not yield. Racn'or tells him that Teal'c, when Apophis's First Prime, saved his father's life after Apophis ordered him killed, when Teal'c rebelled his father agreed with it and was killed, along with the rest of his family. Due to Apophis's great strength Racn'or believes the Goa'uld are Gods. Terok returns and tells Teal'c that Brat'ac is dead, before he died he confessed the Goa'uld were Gods, Teal'c doesn't believe him.

Jacob's ship exits hyperspace in the Tobin system.

Having arrived at their destination, Jacob manoeuvres his ship into position to transport a mine into the hold. Having got a mine, Daniel and Sam go to work on it.

In the dungeon Teal'c gets the better of Terok who smashes the recording device. Alone again with Racn'or, Teal'c tells him that the Goa'uld are parasites, flesh and blood just like anyone else, he has seen the world, the swamps where they come from. He belives so strongly in the cause for freedom, he fights with every last breath to stay alive and defy the false gods.

On the ship, Jacob runs into some trouble when another mine gets a bit to close, he just about manages to manoeuvre without detonating the mine in the hold. As Daniel and Sam go back to work, Apophis arrives, Jacob cloaks his ship. Sam enters the code to re programme the mine but instead the mine starts to countdown to detonation.

Heru-ur now arrives and offers Apophis and alliance. In return Heru-ur wants to maintain dominion over what is already his plus that of Cronos, he also offers Apophis a gift to show his loyalty, the gift is Teal'c.

Teal'c is offered to Apophis.

On Jacob's ship Sam works out that the Tobin would have used the number 0, they had too with this level of technology and Daniel hadn't been taking this into account. They retry entering the code and it works, they re programme the mine and release it. Jack tells Jacob that they must try and save Teal'c, but Jacob says that it is to dangerous, this mission is more important that Teal'c's life, saving him is also to risky.

Apophis contacts Heru-ur, he has agreed to the alliance.

Sam meanwhile manages to convince her dad to try and rescue Teal'c by intercepting the matter stream when he is transported to Apophis's ship.

Terok enters the dungeon to get Teal'c when he Teal'c attacks one of the guards, Terok knocks him down with his ribbon device then uses it to try and kill him, he will have the pleasure of seeing Teal'c die at least once. Racn'or who is watching suddenly turns on Terok and kills him.

Racn'or attacks Terok.

Having failed to intercept the matter stream, Jacob moves the ship away. Inside Apophis's ship one of his aides operates a device and the mine Daniel and Sam reprogrammed explodes against Apophis's ship, at the same time Apophis finds that Heru-ur has transported the body of Terok to him and presumes it to be treachery. A massive fleet of Apophis's ships decloak in the minefield and blast Heru-ur's ship from the stars, then protect Apophis's ship from the mines.

Apophis's fleet decloaks and then destroy Heru-ur's ship.

Racn'or meanwhile has escaped with Teal'c in a glider just before Heru-ur's ship was destroyed. Jacob contacts the Glider thinking it may be a fleeing Heru-ur, Racn'or answers with a Tok'ra password and they agree to rendezvous. Selmak takes control of Jacob and tells everyone that what has happened is the worst outcome possible, Apophis now controls the vast army of Heru-ur and will be nearly unstoppable.
