A Doctor Jordan is examining the Osiris Jar along with other Egyptian artifacts recovered from the Stewart Expedition to Egypt in the 30's. One of his assistants Steven enters and Jordan tells him that they have finally got permission to run a resonance scan on the jar to find out its contents before they have to send it back to Egypt. After Jordan has left Steven eyes up a gold amulet that is also in the collection.

At the SGC Jack is reading a magazine of Teal'c's when Daniel enters. Daniel sees a headline in the mag and takes it from Jack, Doctor Jordan has been killed in a lab explosion, Jordan is Daniel's old professor.

Daniel turns up at Jordan's funeral. Steven isn't to pleased to see him as Daniel walked out on Jordan years ago. One of Jordan's other assistants and an ex-flame of Daniel's, Sarah is pleased to see him though. Steven leaves them and Sarah and Daniel walk and talk, mainly about him and where he has been, of course Daniel can't say much.

At the SGC, Hammond gives the rest of SG-1 some leave time as they are long due it. Jack invites everyone to fish with him, Sam declines and it ends up with just he and Teal'c going. As they leave Jack tells Hammond that they are to be incommunicado, he doesn't want to be disturbed having finally gotten the time off.

At Jordan's lab Sarah finds that the gold amulet Steven was looking at has gone. Daniel goes to the store room to see if he can find it but is told by the clerk it was sent to Jordan with the rest of the stuff, and as far as she knows, Jordan still has it. Daniel looks at the jar that is there, he sees some Goa'uld writing on it.

At the fishing ground a phone starts ringing, Teal'c has bought one with him, telling Jack it was Hammond's order. Jack answers it, it is Daniel wanting Teal'c. Daniel asks Teal'c for a translation on the jar writing and is told it means, 'Banished To Oblivion.' Teal'c desperately tries to get Daniel to say he needs him back at the SGC, but Jack confiscates the phone.

Back at the SGC Daniel has bought the jar in for examination. Sam takes it and they perform a scan on it, inside is a dead Goa'uld, Isis.

Later that night Daniel returns to Chicago to look for the second jar that should be there according to the original report on the Stewart Expedition. He finds Steven poking around in the storeroom in the dark and then finds the clerk dead.

A while later Daniel and Sarah are looking for info on the jars. The second jar, the Osiris jar, was destroyed in the lab explosion that killed Jordan, Daniel wants to know what the Goa'uld inscriptions on that were, luckily Jordan had written them down. Sarah searches for Jordan's computer files on the jars and amulet but finds everything deleted, she does manage to recover one e-mail though, it is from the carbon dating lab, the amulet is 10,000 years old. They look for Steven but he is gone, he must have the amulet. Sarah starts to go off after him but Daniel stops her, Sarah gets angry with him wanting to know why everything they have found out and everything about him must be kept so secret, Daniel won't tell her anything and leaves.

Back at the SGC, they work out that the Osiris jar could well have contained a living Goa'uld as the Isis jar only didn't because it was damaged. Hammond gives them a go to stop Osiris who they think may possess Steven as he has been acting oddly and was in close proximity to the jar quite often. They get a lead on him, he booked a flight to Cairo, Daniel thinks he will be heading back to the temple where the artifacts were found.

Steven arrives at the temple, he places the amulet in a key hole and it unlocks a control panel which contains a ribbon device. Just then he hears a noise and turns around, someone possessed by a Goa'uld has entered.

Daniel and the others arrive, they enter the temple with Daniel holding a dart gun containing tranq. Frasier has made up similar to that in the jars. They find Steven badly injured on the floor, as Daniel asks him who did this to him Sarah enters and says she did, she is possessed by the Goa'uld Osiris.

Osiris blasts Frasier and Sam with the ribbon device, then turns on Daniel after she knocks away his dart. Daniel tells Osiris that Seth, Hathor, Ra and Sokar are dead, Osiris thanks him for helping kill off so much opposition, now Osiris can rule Earth without opposition. Asking about the gate and Isis, Osiris starts using the ribbon device on Daniel when he refuses to give out the info. As Osiris is distracted by using the ribbon device, Daniel stabs a dart into the host body and stops the ribbon device. Osiris starts to falter but operates the control panel, a ship rises from the sands, moving to the middle of the room Osiris operates a hand device which activates some transporter rings, transporting to the ship. Before leaving Osiris leaves Daniel a chilling message :-

"Osiris will return and the rivers of the Earth will run red with blood."
