Between Two Fires ..... Desperate Measures

The episode starts with a reprise from 2010.
SG-1 return home and Jack tells Hammond their job is done, they have been introduced to an alien race called the Aschen and they are willing to share their technology.
Sam is holding a briefing for the SGC personnel, various military people and an Ambassador Joe Faxon. She tells them the Aschen are willing to trade but will not tell them where their home world is until a deal has been signed as they don't have an iris and don't want the information on their world falling into the wrong hands. After the briefing the Ambassador is teamed up with Sam who shows him around the base, she also shows him how they are trying to go about locating the Aschen home world. They then go to the Mess Hall to eat.
The next day the Ambassador and SG-1 set off to P3A-194, the world where they were introduced to the Aschen by the Vollians. On arrival Daniel and Teal'c head off to speak more with the locals while Jack, Sam and Joe meet with an Aschen called Borren.
At the SGC, the Chevron Guy tells Hammond that the Aschen Home world could possibly be P4C-970, the planet they received a note warning them about not going too.
Daniel & Teal'c meanwhile meet the Vollian Keel. He tells them the Aschen are honorable. He asks them to tell the Aschen he has Iron Root in one of his fields and needs it sorting out, Daniel & Teal'c go to check it out and find a metal structure sticking out of the soil. After Keel has left Daniel starts to dig around.
On one of the Aschen Harvester machines the Ambassador meets with his Aschen counterpart called Molum. The Aschen want to trade technology for gate addresses. They ask about the birth rate on the planet and how we control it, they also say before any alliance can be organised all the people of Earth have too know about it.
Daniel & Teal'c meanwhile find a desolate city under Keel's field, it is circa Earth technology level of 1910. they look around and find what appears to be the central administration area, Daniel manages to recover some old papers from inside.
Back on the Harvester Molum offers a place in the Aschen Confederation as well as weapons technology. Both sides leave the table to discuss more details with their superiors.
At the SGC Hammond is trying to get teams to search planets near 194 and 970 to see if the Aschen Homeworld is one of them, but the operation is cancelled by the Pentagon. Jack, Sam and Joe arrive back and Hammond informs Jack about 970 and that the President doesn't want teams snooping around other planets and ruining a possible treaty.
Daniel meanwhile has finished reading through the papers, it seems the Aschen may be responsible for wiping out the Vollians. Jack & Sam go back to 194 to get them and they all return to the SGC with the information.
Daniel briefs them all on the situation and says that the Vollians have virtually been wiped out since the Aschen arrives and 'saved' them. Hammond says he has tried to get the president but he will not speak to him so Jack decides to go to the White House in person.
Near the White House Jack's car is stopped and Senator Kinsey gets in, he tells Jack he has no appointment with the President and that they are all getting fed up with the SGC's interfering with anything to do with the Stargate Project that goes to higher levels. The treaty will go ahead.
Back at the SGC Hammond tells Sam that she will accompany the Ambassador back to 194 to meet the Aschen delegation that are coming to Earth, she needs to get them to admit to what they are doing before they get here. Daniel says he has a plan and passes her a note.
Arriving on 194 they meet Molum and Borren. The Ambassador gives Molum a laptop containing gate addresses as a good will gesture. Sam asks Borren to read a word aloud as they don't know what it means, he says the word 'sterility', they know what the Aschen are up to but Molum locks them into a room while they go to complete the treaty.
They hear the gate dialing up and go to the balcony to see what is going on, the Aschen are dialling Earth. Sam attaches a rope to the ledge railing and lowers herself over the side, she tells Joe to follow. She sees the Aschen preparing to launch a bio weapon through the gate. Borren enters and Joe jumps on his allowing Sam to escape. Flying through the SGC gate she tells them to close the iris, seconds later there is a thud. Kinsey enters and demands to know what is going on, no one even looks at him, he storms out saying there will be an investigation into all that has happened.
