SG-1 travel to Hanka (PX9-987) where the SGC has set up an observatory with the locals help so that they can observe a black hole eclipse. SG-1 find everyone dead, including SG-7 who have been on the planet some time.
Dr Frasier arrives on Hanka with a deacon team, they sterilize the base and examine SG-1 who they find are okay. SG-1 are sent out to tag the dead bodies and find a young girl still alive, Teal'c coaxes her out of the bushes and they take her back to the base where Sam and Dr Frasier examine her.
Sam and Frasier examine the girl.
Dr Frasier finds Naquada in the girls blood and they think that may be why she didn't die. The girl seems to become attached to Sam and they take her back to the SGC while Jack and Teal'c stay on Hanka.
Dr Frasier, Daniel and Hammond discuss the situation, Frasier thinks that the SG teams may have taken a normal bacteria to Hanka which mutated, she also believes the young girl is the cure, they also say they don't know why SG-7 didn't report what was happening.
Daniel and Frasier talk to Hammond.
The girl has been put in a room and Sam has been with her but Sam has to go, the girl doesn't want her too go and says her name is Cassandra. Cassandra tells Sam her chest hurts and Sam takes her to be examined, she collapses and goes into arrest but Frasier manages to stabilise her but also hears something in her chest, when they do an x-ray they find something growing inside of her. Dr Warner does a biopsy and manages to remove some samples of the growth from her heart and they also find out it can stop her heart.
Daniel, Sam and Frasier look at Cassandra's x-ray.
On Hanka the eclipse starts and Jack and Teal'c start to observe it, but they find a Goa'uld ship in orbit of the planet.
At the SGC Sam finds out that the elements the object in Cassandra's heart is made of will cause a massive nuclear explosion when combined together once the object is complete. They work out that it must have been a set up and that the Goa'uld have been using the girl as a booby trap to destroy Earth.
On Hanka Teal'c says the ship belongs to the Goa'uld Nyerti, as they watch it they see a Glider leave the ship, they rush out of the observatory and run for the gate, they make it just in time.
Jack and Teal'c run for the gate.
At the SGC they decide to send Cassandra back to Hanka but Jack and Teal'c arrive back just in time and tell them to stop, if Cassandra goes through the stargate it will trigger the device in her heart and destroy it.
They now take Cassandra to an abandoned nuclear facility. Sam volunteers to take Cassandra to the bunker 30 floors down. On the way Cassandra regains consciousness. Sam tearfully leaves Cassandra in the bunker.
Sam has to leave Cassandra.
On the way back up Sam stops the lift and goes back down. The time comes for the bomb to go off but nothing happens. Sam tells Jack that she thinks the stargate was triggering the bomb.
A while later Daniel, Sam and Teal'c are with Cassandra in the park when Jack brings her a dog. Dr Frasier volunteers to look after Cassandra and the object is shrinking and being observed into the blood.
Sam and Cassy in the park.
