SG-1's iris code is received and the iris is opened, the wormhole starts to fluctuate and is drawing twice the amount of power it normally does. Daniel and Teal'c come flying through the gate and are knocked unconscious when they land. The gate then overloads and the wormhole disengages.
In an ice cave Jack and Sam are lying on the floor near a stargate. Sam gets up and looks around.
Sam looks around the cave she and Jack are in.
At the SGC Teal'c tells Hammond that they were surrounded the minute they arrived on P4A-771 and attacked by energy weapons, possibly of Goa'uld origin, they can't understand why Jack and Sam aren't there as they were only a few metres behind.
In the ice cave Jack regains consciousness. Sam tells him that she has had a look around but Daniel and Teal'c are nowhere to be seen, there is also no DHD to be found. Jack tells Sam he will not die on an ice bucket millions of miles from home and that they will find a way home.
At the SGC Daniel regains consciousness and Teal'c tells him what has happened.
Sam meanwhile finds the DHD buried under the ice and they start to dig it out. Sam says too Jack that she has three explanations why they are here, 1. Daniel misdialed, 2. The gate malfunctioned and they were sent here and Daniel & Teal'c to Earth or 3. They both got sent to different planets.
Sam and Jack start to dig out the DHD.
At the SGC the gate has been fixed, they send a MALP to the 771 but see it destroyed by energy weapon fire quickly, however there was no sign of Jack or Sam near the gate. Hammond scrubs a rescue mission to the planet.
Getting ready to send a MALP to 771.
Sam comes to the conclusion that she and Jack were sent to a different stargate by the energy blasts hitting the gate on 771, this directed the wormhole and they should therefore be on a planet somewhere between Earth and 771. At the SGC Daniel and Teal'c start to explore the same possibilities.
Sam and Jack have dug out the DHD and in the process have found a buried Serpent Guard. Sam finds out the point of origin and tries to dial the gate up but it doesn't power properly. Jack orders them to both rest and try again in the morning.
At the SGC Daniel thinks he is missing something, the search continues but to no avail. Hammond calls the search off as they have exhausted the list of planets Daniel has given them.
Hammond tells Daniel the search is over.
Sam meanwhile can't get the DHD working and also thinks she is missing something. Jack tells her to take the supplies and leave. She decides that they may need to reset the DHD to get it to work properly, she tries dialling again and the gate shakes violently but doesn't dial up, the gate at the SGC also starts to shake.
Sam can't get the gate working at all.
Daniel tells Teal'c that they have ruled out a world they shouldn't of. He tells Teal'c and Hammond that he thinks Jack and Sam have been redirected to a second gate on Earth. Daniel says the second gate would likely shake as it hasn't been dampened like the one at the SGC, Hammond has a seismograph done and they find a tremor in Antarctica at the same time Daniel felt the gate shake at the SGC, its location is only 50 miles from McMurdo base.
Daniel explains his idea.
After the gate failed to dial up again Jack orders Sam to leave, she does and climbs to the surface, all she can see is ice and snow.
Snow and ice as far as Sam can see.
Sam goes back to tell Jack but falls down a crevice, she ends up back with Jack and crawls up next to him to prepare to die. The next thing Sam knows is that Hammond is standing over her, he tells her that he will explain it all later. As they leave he orders the cave sealed off.
