SG-1 explore a deserted city, a ghost town. As they look around a giant fly lands on Teal'c's back and stings him. As loads more approach SG-1 rush back to the gate.
The deserted city.
At the SGC, Dr Frasier examines Teal'c, he is in a lot of pain from the insect sting and his larvae seems to be doing nothing to reverse it. Dr Frasier tells them that Teal'c has the insects DNA in his blood and she doesn't know what to do. Sam suggests calling in a specialist she knows in the field, Dr Timothy Harlow.
Dr Harlow arrives at the SGC.
After looking over the data, Dr Harlow says that Teal'c's DNA is being re-written by that of the insects, his larvae is stemming the tide but not reversing it. Jack talks with Teal'c, Teal'c tells him that he doesn't want to become something he isn't and if necessary Jack must do whatever is needed to stop that happening, Jack agrees to it.
Hammond calls Jack to his office, Maybourne is there. Maybourne has permission to take Teal'c away and Hammond can do nothing to stop him, Harlow has betrayed them. On the way to the research lab, Maybourne tells Harlow that he wants Teal'c to change.
Maybourne reveals his scheme.
Just then Teal'c goes mad and attacks the guards. Before leaving the van Teal'c removes his symbiote and takes a radio.
Back at the SGC Maybourne orders a search for Teal'c, but Jack tells him that the search is under his control as it is using SGC troops and Maybourne can like it or lump it, he isn't pleased. In the lab, Harlow tells them that Teal'c's mind is probably being altered. Dr Frasier meanwhile has the symbiote hooked up to a life support machine, it is stable for the moment. Teal'c radios in but when Jack pushes him for his position he drops the radio and runs. Harlow tells Sam and Frasier that he hopefully has a way to reverse the process but needs a bug to get its pure DNA, Jack, Sam and Daniel get a go to return to the planet a retrieve one.
Teal'c arrives in the city, he is slowly getting worst.
Teal'c arrives in the city.
He hides in an abandoned building and as he looks at his arms, he sees them cover in blotches.
Back at the SGC, SG-1 return and a bug follows them threw the gate, they manage to sedate it.
SG-1 have a bug problem.
They show Hammond and Harlow a video that they took on the planet, the population is still there but are cocoons producing the bugs, that is how they reproduce, Teal'c will turn into this spreading the bugs over the area.
At the abandoned building a young girl, Ally, arrives with a water pistol. She befriends Teal'c. Teal'c tells he no-one must know he is here and that he also needs food, Ally shares her chocolate bar with him and shows him somewhere safer in the building to hide.
At the SGC, Sam has done some calculations, within 6-8 weeks the bugs would number in there millions. Hammond gets authorisation from the President that if they find Teal'c first they don't have to hand him to Maybourne.
Maybourne's troops storm the building Teal'c is hiding in but don't find him, they do find Ally though. Maybourne asks her if she knows anything, but she tells him that she doesn't.
Ally confronts Maybourne.
After the troops have gone she returns to Teal'c who is starting to be covered with the cocoon material, he tells her to phone Jack.
At the SGC, Teal'c's symbiote is dieing. Jack suggests zapping it with paddles like they do on ER. Frasier and Sam think it could work, supplying it with a small electric charge is the only thing they haven't done, once they have done this the symbiote starts to recover. Jack gets a call, it is Ally, she tells him where Teal'c is.
They recover Teal'c who undergoes the operation Harlow planned and he has his symbiote replaced, he should make a full recovery. A few days later Teal'c goes to see Ally, he has brought her a new powerful water pistol, Ally shoot him with it and runs off, Teal'c then produces his own water pistol and goes after her.
Teal'c finds a water pistol more handy than a Zat Gun.
