Sam sees herself in one of Jolinar's memories.

In a briefing they all discuss Sam's flashbacks. Jack is skeptical but Sam persists that the Tok'ra are good guys. In the end she manages to persuade Hammond and O'Neill to give a mission to the co-ordinates she saw dialed a go. Before they go Sam calls her father to see how he is. Hammond overhears the call and asks Sam how Jacob is doing. He tells Sam that she can stay here if she wants, but Sam refuses.

Sam and Hammond talk about her father.

Arriving at the planet they are ambushed by a group of people. The people recognise Teal'c as being in the service of Apophis, but he tells them that he is now allied with the Tau'ri. Daniel tells them that they are looking for the Tok'ra and are against all Goa'uld, to which Sam says that these people are Goa'uld. The leader of the group says that they are not Goa'uld. Sam recognises one of the people, his name is Martouf. After a bit of a stand-off the group agree to take SG-1 to their leaders, but only if they leave their weapons behind, Jack is persuaded to agree and they are all transported into some caves.

SG-1 are ambushed.

Back at the SGC, Hammond gets a call to see Jacob, he is worst than expected. The cancer has been cleared up from where it was but has moved into his lungs. He asks George to tell him what Sam really does but he refuses.

George and Jacob talk.

SG-1 are introduced to Garshaw, a member of the High Council of the Tok'ra. They ask about Jolinar and Sam tells them what happened. Meanwhile at the hospital Jacob suffers a relapse, Hammond is told that if he has any family they should be called now. Back at the Tok'ra base, SG-1 are told that the Tok'ra only take volunteer hosts, they are shown Selmak, a symbiote that will die as the present host is dieing and a new one can't be found, SG-1 are asked if anyone will volunteer to host Selmak, they all refuse. They ask Garshaw for an audience with the High Council and manage to convince her to allow it, even though they are not offering what the Tok'ra really need, hosts.

Martouf offers Sam a walk outside, he wants to know more about Jolinar. Martouf and his symbiote Lantash tell Sam that Jolinar was their mate for over 100 years and that Sam looks very much like her. Sam tells Martouf that Jolinar left in her the feelings she had for him, this is making Sam very confused. As they get closer Daniel and some Tok'ra arrive, the High Council has agreed to meet them.

Martouf and Sam talk of Jolinar.

As they all walk to the meeting chamber Jack sees one of the Tok'ra, Cordesh, leave the party, he follows him. He watched Cordesh enter his room and remove a small Goa'uld communications device. Cordesh sees Jack and puts the com unit away and tells Jack he had better rejoin the others in the meeting hall.
