Daniel speaks to Garshaw about why their request for an alliance was turned down, she tells him that the Tau'ri are too great a risk to have that much information on them, and that it is also to protect the Tau'ri as the Goa'uld would go for them more than now if they were allied. Sam thinks it is more and pressures Garshaw into revealing that it is obvious the thought of blending, and especially saving Selmak, sickens them and this is a major part of the Tok'ra's way of life. Again SG-1 and 3 are told they will have to stay here until the Tok'ra move planets.

Sam is worried about her father and asks Makepeace how ill he is, but is told that all they were told was to get her back ASAP. Sam calls for Garshaw, she asks if a symbiote can cure cancer and is told it can, she suggests that her father become a host for Selmak if he is willing. The Tok'ra agree to let Sam and Jack return to Earth to find out.
Arriving back at the SGC they speak to Hammond about the idea. Hammond isn't pleased about it but they convince him Jacob would be a good liason between the Tok'ra and the Tau'ri, he gives the idea his blessing.
Hammond discusses the situation with Jack and Sam.
On the Tok'ra planet they receive word that the System Lords become aware of their location, they begin an evacuation.
At the hospital Sam tells Jacob about the gate project and that she travels to other planets, he is rather disbelieving but they convince him. Sam tells him there is somewhere he may be able to be cured, he agrees to it. They travel through the gate to the Tok'ra world and Sam takes Jacob to Martouf and Selmak.
Jacob takes his first gate trip.
They introduce Jacob to Selmak but he seems not to remember what they told him about the Tok'ra and doesn't want anything to do with it. Martouf and Sam talk Jacob into talking with Selmak and the host Saroush, she explains everything to him and Jacob agrees to go ahead with the blending.
Sam talks Jacob into the idea of blending.
Jack, Daniel and Teal'c go to see Garshaw. Jack tells her the Tok'ra have a spy in their ranks but Garshaw tells them that no Tok'ra would ever betray them. Jack tells Garshaw about the com device Cordesh had, the Tok'ra don't use them as they are unsecure, Cordesh is obviously a spy. They find Cordesh in a corridor that is being destroyed, he tells them that everything isn't as it seems and he doesn't deserve to be with the Tok'ra, he then kills himself.
Cordesh commits suicide.
Selmak now talks with Jacob as it wants to know about the person it will blend with, they get along well. Selmak agrees to the joining but tells Jacob that due to its weakness after living in the dieing Saroush it may not be able to cure him and they may both die, Jacob says he will die anyway so may as well go ahead with it. Jacob then gives Sam what could be a farewell talk and kiss and then the joining takes place.
The symbiote moves from Saroush to Jacob.
As Jack, Daniel, Teal'c and Garshaw walk through the passages, Jack sees one of the Tok'ra with a box likes Cordesh's, he takes it and opens it, inside is a com unit. Corsdesh has swapped hosts but has been caught, Garshaw orders Cordesh removed from the host and then banished to a vanishing tunnel.
They go to Selmak's room. Jacob has still not recovered from the joining yet but the Goa'uld are coming fast. Martouf and Sam will stay as the others leave. Daniel, Jack, Teal'c and Garshaw escape to Earth just in time.
They escape just in time.
Jacob wakes up, he is cured. Jacob, Martouf and Sam take their leave and return to Earth just before the Goa'uld dial in. On Earth Jacob tells them that he will act as liaison between the two peoples, but they must go immediately as the Goa'uld will most likely know their next base location and they will need to move again. Garshaw, Martouf and Jacob take their leave with a box Daniel gives them that they can send through the gate if they need them.
