At the SGC an offworld activation occurs and Brat'ac's GDO signal is received. A young woman comes through the gate, she says she is Sho'nac of the red hills and that Brat'ac has sent her to the Tau'ri. Teal'c enters the room and recognises Sho'nac. She asks to be taken to the Tok'ra as she has found a way to defeat the Goa'uld.

Sho'nac tells them that she has managed to communicate with her symbiote and has convinced it that the Goa'uld are evil. It wants to join the Tok'ra and share all its knowledge of the Goa'uld with them. The symbiote is fully matured and needs a host urgently, it suddenly appears but Sho'nac talks to it and it retracts, Sho'nac then collapses.

In the infirmary Dr Frasier tells them that Sho'nac is dieing as her immune system is braking down. Hammond and O'Neill order her to be put in quarantine, but Sho'nac doesn't want that. Teal'c talks to her on his own, even he doesn't believe her story but she tells him how he can try to contact his own symbiote via a very deep form of Kelnorime (meditation). Teal'c asks for the help of the other SG-1 members as he doesn't know what will happen when he tries this. Teal'c enters kelnorime and receives a disturbing vision of Cronos killing his father, Sho'nac is telling the truth.

Anise arrives at the SGC from the Tok'ra and is told what has occurred, she is very interested in Sho'nac's offer and will put it to the High Council. As she goes to leave Teal'c asks Freya if they could find a new symbiote for Sho'nac so she will no die, Freya says she can't promise but will try. Teal'c goes to see Sho'nac and tells her what is going on, they end up kissing.

The Tok'ra accept Sho'nac's offer and SG-1 head off to Vorash with her.

Sho'nac is introduced to the Tok'ra.

They are introduced to Hebron a willing host for Sho'nac's symbiote. The symbiote is well past the time it should have taken a host and as Hebron says he is ready the symbiote exits Sho'nac and enters Hebron via the front of his neck.

Hebron is joined.

Sho'nac collapses and is very weak, but luckily the Tok'ra have found her a primta and she should recover. Daniel, Jack and Sam talk to Hebron to check he is okay, he assures them he is. When Jack says he will want to start asking questions about the Goa'uld the Anise refuses saying that Tanith (the Goa'uld's name) has joined them not the SGC, Jack gets very angry and returns to Earth with the others. Before he leaves Teal'c talks to Sho'nac, he will leave the SGC to return to Chulak with her to teach other Jaffa to turn their symbiotes against the Goa'uld.

Teal'c takes his leave of Sho'nac.

Sho'nac goes to see Tanith, he tells her that she should not have dared defy those who would be her god and kills her. On Earth Teal'c is telling Hammond and the others he is leaving when an incoming wormhole is established, it is the Tok'ra. Anise arrives with Sho'nac's body, Teal'c is devastated, Anise tells them that the symbiote they implanted was obviously to young to heal her.

During a meditation Teal'c again receives a vision of his fathers death, he cries out in pain and Jack comes running to his room, he opens the door and says Sho'nac was murdered.

Returning to Vorash they tell the Tok'ra what has happened, Teal'c says that Sho'nac was killed the same way as his father, her symbiote crushed to death and so she dies slowly and painfully. Teal'c runs off to kill Tanith in revenge but is overpowered by Tok'ra guards, the Tok'ra know Tanith is a spy but didn't realise till after Sho'nac's death, they are sorry she had to die. They will keep Tanith alive and feed him false information about the Tok'ra's activity.

Tanith awaits Teal'c.

Teal'c goes to see Tanith. Tanith tells him that he is sorry about Sho'nac and offers his condolences, Teal'c tells him they will meet again.
