THE PLOT

A transmission is received by SGC, it is the Kelownans' (Jonas's people). The Kelownans' want to re-establish trade links with Earth, which O'Neill and Teal'c are against, however Sam says they need the Naquadria.

Teal'c goes to see Jonas. He tells him that when he joined SG-1 he went down a similar path and that the reasons he did it or were just. The Kelownan delegation arrives and Jonas says hello to one of its members, his former mentor Dr Kiran. Kiran blanks Jonas completely.

The Kelownan's tell then that it looks like the other powers on Kelowna are going to wage war on them. They wish to trade military knowledge for Naquadria. The Kelownan's are told that it is a no go, we don't interfere with other planets affairs, especially after being burnt in the past. The Kelownan’s inform them they will have to fall back on their last resort, a Naquadria bomb.

Dr Kiran later comes back alone, he wants to speak to Jonas. Jonas tells him that the people of his planet need to get over their differences and unite. Kiran tells him that he is a member of a resistance movement that want to do just that, but they need Jonas's help. Jonas briefs the others on what Kiran told him. Hammond says that SG-1 has been given the go ahead to negotiate with Kelowna for Naquadria, however they can only offer non military assistance. At the same time they can check out the resistance.

SG-1 arrives on Kelowna and meet First Minister Valas. The Kelownan’s inform SG-1 they have 300lbs of Naquadria they can trade and want jet fighter technology in exchange. SG-1 refuse but offer them medical assistance instead, the Kelownan's refuse.

SG-1 go and see Dr Kiran, they ask him to visit the resistance so they can have a meeting with them. At the resistance HQ Kiran tells them that SG-1 want to meet and that he trusts Jonas. Jonas meanwhile sees Valas. He is told that Dr Kiran has not been himself lately, he is asked to watch him in exchange for a full pardon.

Back at the negotiation table the Kelownan's are informed that the Terranians are massing troops on their borders. Sam suggests they allow SGC to help with negotiations but they are told that no one else knows about the stargate. SG-1 push for the Kelownan’s to reveal its existence but they counter, asking why the US hasn’t told anyone about their stargate.

They go to see Kiran who tells them he has smuggled some Naquadria to the resistance. He asks for SGC help in storming the Kelownan HQ through the stargate so that the resistance can take control. If they do they can have the Naquadria.

Kiran is walking through a building when Jonas grabs him, he is told he is being followed. They are chased and Kiran falls from a set of stairs, Jonas and the people chasing them disappear.

Kiran is taken to the SGC at Jonas's request. In a briefing they discuss the situation and decide to see exactly what the resistance are about. Sam says she can trace the Naquadria they have. Dr Kiran is talking to Jonas about the day he saw the bomb test, however a video feed from the room shows no one else is with him. Dr Frasier gets the results on Kiran's brain scans, they show he has schizophrenia.

On Kelowna Sam manages to trace the Naquadria to a warehouse, it is empty, the resistance don't exist. Jonas confronts Valas and the other Kelownan delegates. He tells them about the power of the Goa'uld and that they can sense Naquada/Naquadria and they will come. However the Kelownan's aren't worried, they Goa'uld haven't been to the planet for a thousand years. Jack arrives and tells Jonas about Kiran. Valas tells Jonas that they knew something was up with Kiran but didn't know what, that is why they wanted Jonas to watch him.

Later back at SGC they try to contact the Kelownan's, they can't get a reply and fear a war has begun. Jonas goes too see Kiran. Kiran says that the resistance is about to take power and Jonas says that he has saved the world.
